Talofa Friends,

January 2005 Property Update for Aggie Grey's Lagoon, Beach Resort & Spa

You will be pleased to take note of some of the latest developments and updates at the all new stylish Aggie Grey's Lagoon, Beach Resort & Spa which is on target to open in July 2005.

As some of you may have had first hand experience of siting the construction in its infancy, we are pleased to announce we have made substantial progress and the construction manager has yet again reconfirmed the Resort’s opening date at July 2005.

Finishing Touches

At this stage the time consuming finishing touches have now begun on the accommodation blocks.  Our interior designer and decorator (a former Brazilian Model Miss Adriana Gaido) has also been on site to give instructions on the colour schemes and will be decorating the Resorts rooms and central facilities with a Polynesian Island flare.  All rooms will have bright colours in the interior, and earth colours for the exterior.  Several rooms are now ready for installation of modern fixtures and fittings.  We have also gone to great lengths to source furniture and furnishings from, Asia and Brazil:country-region>, which best convey the resort’s theme.  They will soon be moved into the rooms to complete this blend of modern and traditional flavour.  To add a local touch all outdoor walkways have intricately carved poles of Samoan motifs.  Similar designs have been carved on balcony poles as well. as the poles in the public areas of the Resort.  The Reception and Restaurants are almost complete with the swimming pool ready to take shape.

Landscaping

One of the highlights of this project is the landscaping.  Several tons of fertile topsoil have now been evenly spread out in front of all of the accommodation blocks.  Being a tropical island grass has already started growing despite our meagre wet season.  Miniature palms and flowering shrubs will be planted, once the lawn has grown to its preferred height and manicured.  This will avoid any interference of the panoramic views of the turquoise Pacific Ocean from the rooms.

White sand will be spread out on marked boundaries dividing the lawn and the ocean.  All the stones and pebbles will be removed and sifted by hand; a painstaking task to ensure the immaculate maintenance of the beach.

Resort Details and Rooms

The Resort will have 140 rooms all with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean.

Resort Facilities and Services

The Resort will have a ‘swim up’ pool cocktail bar and one main lobby bar.  The ‘swim up’ pool cocktail bar will be called "The Solent Bar" after the Teal Flying boats which used the site of the Resort during the 1950's and 1960's for their famous Coral Route landings.  The main lobby bar will be called “Bloody Mary's" and will house numerous imported beers, spirits and top shelf liquor as well as serving the more popular and original cocktails. Our signature restaurant, “South Pacific”, will be the Resort’s main restaurant, serving Island flare cuisine mixed with East-meets-West cuisine. The “Al Fresco Pool Area” will serve snacks during the day and evening for casual poolside dining. Executive Chef will be Trent Sanft former Sous Chef of the Hyatt Hotel in Auckland.

Penina o Samoa 18 Hole International Golf Course and Country Club at Aggie Grey's
