Talofa Friends,
You will be pleased to
take note of some of the latest developments and updates at Aggie Grey's two
Samoan properties, the Aggie Grey's Hotel & Bungalows and the all
new stylish Aggie Grey's Lagoon, Beach Resort & Spa which is on
target to open in June 2005.
New Zealand Representation We are
pleased to announce that as of 1st May 2004, Laura Wadsworth has been appointed
as the official Sales Representative for the two Aggie Grey's
properties. Laura, as many of you in the travel industry in New Zealand would
know, brings a wealth of experience to the field of sales and marketing which
she will be applying on behalf of Aggie Grey's.
We are excited
to have Laura come on board and look forward to working intensively with her in
promoting the Aggie Grey's name, as well as Samoa, as a viable tourist
destination.
Australian Representation. Julie Ingles joins us
from Sydney as our Sales and Marketing representative for the Australian
Market. We are pleased to welcome Julie on board and look forward to working
closely with her in enhancing our old markets as well as developing new markets
in Australia's key cities.
Property Update at Aggie Grey's Hotel
& Bungalows on the waterfront, on Apia Harbor
Refurbishment at
Aggie Grey's Hotel & Bungalows As many of you will recall, the
Hotel in Apia has under gone a major refurbishment programme, which began in
early 1998 with the refurbishment of all the old Standard Rooms and the Garden
Bungalows. To date the Fletcher Construction Company of New Zealand is working
on the last of the 11 Standard Rooms which have yet to be refurbished and is on
schedule to complete these 11 rooms in time for the South Pacific Forum in
August when the Hotel will be fully booked.
Since 1998 we have
refurbished all 94 Standard Rooms with new interior designs, new vanity and en
suite areas as well as adding new décor and cane furniture. New bedding
as well as other room services have been added to make each room comfortable;
10 Complimentary in-house movie and TV Channels and 6 cable TV channels which
run 7 days a week, 24 hours day. All Standard Rooms are now fully equipped with
a refurbished en suite bathroom and vanity area, iron/ironing board and
fridges, and in room safes have been installed as well.
Of the 26
Bungalows, which are scattered around the Hotel's lush gardens, all have been
fully refurbished and upgraded. New interior room's designs and colour, vanity
and en suite facilities, as well as new bedding and the addition of cane
furniture have added to the comforts of the newly refurbished Bungalows.
The New Wing Building which houses the 2 Suites and 34 Deluxe Harbour
and Mountain View Rooms has seen a new coat of paint, new carpets as well as
new bedding and cane furniture in the rooms, Lobby, Restaurant and Bar areas.

Markets We have continued with our popular Stay 7 Pay 5 Stay 10 Pay 7 on
our Standard Refurbished Rooms using the 2004/2005 Nett Wholesale Rates
The NZD$200 or AUD$200 per person Meal Deal is still available till 31/3/05.
The meal deal entitles you to 5 Buffet Breakfasts and 4 three course Dinners at
the Poolside Restaurant which includes the Island Floor Show and Buffet,
Mongolian Night and Island Barbecue Nights.

Gym and Health Club Introduced
in 2003, the gym has had a new line of electronic treadmills as well as
electronic bicycles introduced. We have also introduced new free weight
equipment and recently air-conditioned the gym, which is available 24 hours a
day to houseguests. The gym has proved to be very popular with air crews and
the corporate market.
New Promotional Material Scenix
Marketing in Auckland New Zealand has just produced a new A4 size colour
brochure. The brochure is a pull out A4 size colour brochure with colour photos
of the new facilities and services currently offered at Aggie Grey's Hotel
& Bungalows.
A new Business Size CD Rom has also been produced
and is now available for free distribution if anyone wishes to obtain a copy.
The CD Rom is a 5-minute video presentation of the two Aggie Grey's
properties and can easily fit into your pocket as well as your PC. As well as
this the web site is currently being updated to highlight both properties as
they come on line.
Kid's Club and Playground in January 2005
Management is planning to have a Kid's Club and Playground by January 2005 to
add to the already growing Families market. This will be located by the
riverbank of the Hotel and will offer not just a Kid's playground and facility
area, but will also offer daily activities and other amusement games for the
under 12 year olds.
Theme Nights We have continued with our weekly
theme buffet nights, which have proven popular with locals and guests alike.
Every Wednesday Night sees our Island floorshow and Fire Dance Buffet come to
light while Friday Nights by the Poolside we have introduced our popular
Mongolian Buffet Barbecue Night. Saturday Nights at our signature Restaurant,
Le Tamarina, hosts an array of local and imported sea foods for its
Seafood Extravaganza Buffet. Sunday Nights have always remained a special day
in Samoa, and what better way to relax than by the Poolside with our Island
Night Barbecue Buffet.
We have also introduced Full American Buffet
Breakfast daily in the Poolside Fale. For those wishing to have something light
for Breakfast, then the Coffee Lounge offers light Breakfast and Lunch meals
throughout the day, as do the Hotel's other two Restaurants.
Both
Restaurants, Le Tamarina and the Poolside Fale Restaurant,
feature new menus on a monthly basis while the Poolside Fale has a new menu for
every dinner.

Pacific Express Service - Air New
Zealand Aggie Grey's Hotel &
Bungalows has been proud to be associated with Air New Zealand
and our own Local National Carrier Polynesian Airlines. The Hotel's In
Flight Catering Facility is till preparing and catering for both Polynesian
Airlines and Air New Zealand's In Flight requirements. Executive
Chef Adolf Volkman continues to develop new and enterprising menus for both
carriers.
Transfers
and Tours Samoa
Scenic Tours and Inbound Services Ltd is situated on the veranda in the
Lobby area. This company, with forty years' experience to its credit, continues
to run a reliable and smooth operation and will meet and greet your clients and
see them to their departure at whatever hour is required. A range of half day
and full day tours is available with the company's experienced drivers and tour
guides and should your clients request a special outing, this can be arranged
as well.

for the new Aggie Grey's Lagoon, Beach Resort & Spa Opening June

Property Update The new stylish Aggie
Grey's Lagoon, Beach Resort & Spa is set to open in the first week of
June 2005 as a 140 Deluxe Room property with a 4 1/2 Star Rating.
Room(s)
Update There will be two room categories at the new Resort.
- 140 Deluxe Ocean View Rooms - 70 on the second floor and
70 on the ground floor all with sweeping views of the Blue Pacific Ocean.
- 4 Executive Suites are located on the Second Floor
The Resort will have 144 Rooms all with panoramic views
of the Pacific Ocean. Each room will have central air conditioning, TV/in house
movie and cable channels, en suite Facilities with bathtub facilities and hold
two Queen size beds per room, hair dryer, iron and ironing Board, IDD telephone
and instant Internet access. Mini bar and tea/coffee making facilities, in room
safe and radio clocks. Each Room has its own private patio deck.
There
will be family and interconnecting rooms as well as 4 Rooms especially fitted
for the physically challenged.
Each of the 4 Suites will have its own
lounge area as well as private patio deck.
Resort Facilities and
Services The Resort will offer 1 Swim up Pool Cocktail Bar
and One Main Lobby Bar. The Pool Swim Up Bar will be called "The Solent Bar"
after the Teal Flying boats which used the site of the Resort during the 1950's
and 1960's for the famous Coral Route landings.
The Main Bar will be
called "Bloody Mary's" and will house numerous imported beers, spirits and
other liquor as well as serving original cocktails. Nightly live entertainment
will also be a feature to add to the balm of the evening.
Our
signature restaurant, "South Pacific", will be the Resort's main restaurant,
serving Island flare cuisine mixed with East-meets-West cuisine. The Al Fresco
Pool Area will serve snacks during the day and evening for Casual Poolside
Dining.
Penina o
Samoa 18 Hole International Golf Course and Country Club at Aggie
Grey's Samoa's first 18 Hole International Golf course will
be situated on the site of the Resort offering guests a truly international
experience in Golf. Designed by Rather International Golf Design in Greenwood
Lane Colorado, USA and being built by Mike Franco, a PGA Consultant. The course
will be ready and playable by April 2005 and is well into its construction
stages. A Condominium development is also planned at the site of the new Resort
and is expected to begin once the full 18 Hole Golf course is complete.
An array of Golf packages will be available with the Resort's Room
rates on 1st August 2004.
The Spa South Seas An Island style Spa
facility will also service the Resort, offering a range of ancient Samoan and
New Age Spa Facilities and services. The Spa will be one of few located over
the water in the South Pacific with views of the big Island of Savaii and
Apolima.
Wedding and
Anniversary Packages There will be 3 Wedding Packages
available at the Resort, utilising the 100-year-old chapel, which is situated
on the site of the Resort. As well as the 3 Wedding packages on offer, there
will be tailor made weddings to suit each couple's personal preferences.
Water Activities
The highlight of the Resort, the Water Activities Centre
called The Fautasi after the ancient Long Boats of Samoa, will house an
array of water sports activities, ranging from certified Padi Dive Course and
deep sea fishing; motorised and non motorised water sports such as hobby cat
sail boats, kayaks, jet ski hire, banana boat rides, windsurfing and not to
mention para sailing.
