Documentation Required to Register in Samoa To be married in Samoa, you will require your birth certificate and passports. If either of you has been married before and has since been separated/divorced, then you will need to present a Decree Absolute (Divorce) documentation. If you have been widowed then you will need to provide a Death Certificate of your spouse. Fax copies of these documents as well as a completed Intent to Marry form can be lodged with the Ministry of Justice prior to your arrival and it is essential that you bring the originals with you. All Documentation should be in English and clear to read. You will also need to be in Samoa at least four working days before your intended date of marriage. If you are travelling as a Tourist, you
do not require a visa as long as you do not stay more then the 30 days
allocated for a visitor. If you intend to stay after the 30 days then you will
be required to apply to the Department of Immigration for an extension on your
visitor's permit. Weddings performed and registered in Samoa under the Department of Justice and Courts are internationally recognisable. A small fee is also payable to the Ministry of Justice in Apia Who Will Perform the Wedding Ceremony Samoa is an Island founded on God.
